Deferred Revenue Using Revenue Commitments

Is anyone here using revenue commitments able to use the system to calculate deferred revenue?

We track deferred revenue on the contract level which could span various sales orders. We have a custom field which we track this. Further, we use the E81 bundle to allocate value among different items.

The revenue commitment posts on the transaction level and does not get classified at the item level. If we exclude the revenue commitments from the report it works for 99% of the transactions but excludes instances where we post revenue at the revenue commitment level.

Does anyone have any best practices or ideas?
