UPC Code - Allowed on parent and cascades to all children

in Accounting / ERP

I'm not sure how other people use barcodes, but it would only make sense on inventory items to use them on non-matrix items, or children matrix items only.

I'm having to create a workflow to hide this field on matrix parent items, and as I do so, wonder why netsuite doesn't allow for a customisation setting to "allow/disallow barcoding on parent matrix items".
