Commission, Drop ship and Average Costing
Not sure if this is a unique situation or not. We have commission plans based on inventory profitability. We also drop ship a lot of what we sell and the sales reps. get compd. on.
I guess the commission calculations use average cost to figure out profitability. Problem is, when we drop ship something, it is never received into inventory and hence the average cost is not accurate.
Has anyone else had this problem? I guess the only way I can think of fixing it is to "receive" the item into inventory even though it is technically not hitting inventory.
