1099 and Vendor/Partner Records

in Accounting / ERP

We have been using Vendor Records to store details on payments issued by the company and track information for 1099 purposes.  I don't like the way the vendor records are being used and feel that a Partner Record might be a better way.

Does NS native feature for Partner records engage the 1099 feature as well?  I would like to converty my vendor records over if that can be achieved.
