Assembly Components on Purchase Orders

When a Drop Ship or Special Order Assembly Item is on a sales order, we need the assembly components on the auto-generated Purchase Order, not the Assembly Item. At the bottom of page 29 on 2013.1 Release notes, Netsuite clears states this will happen. We have not been able to get this to work in our beta preview login. Someone from Netsuite support is says we have to upgrade our account with the Demand Planning module, which I hear has lots of other issues. I hate to buy Netsuite broken Demand Planning promises just to generate drop ship PO's with components.

We cannot transact with some vendors using EDI until all PO's contain lowest level components. Is anyone auto-generating PO's with components from Assembly Items on Sales Orders.
