Help: Values in Balance sheet report are showing wrong

Hi,

We customized our balance sheet report to show values by accounting periods in columns. If we filter by period 'inclusive' June 2012 and till Nov 2013(or any other period), the values are showing right. But if we won't include June 2012 all the values are showing in negative?

June 2012 is the first period where we added all our historical data in to NetSuite.

Is it happening because we haven't setup our accounts/periods properly in the initial period? I am not an accounting person. Please help.
