Custom Column Field - Sales Order

Hello,

I have a situation which has been running in circles. 

I need to have a custom column field that will display the following:

- The Product Quantity Available.

So this would have to be equal to the Quantity unless the amount available is less then the quantity.  Then it would need to be the actual qty available.

For example:
Order Qty - 10
Available - 8
NEED IT TO SHOW - 8

AND IN THE SAME RESPECT

Order Qty - 48
Available - 310
NEED IT TO SHOW - 48

Essentially this is the shippable qty of the requested.

Any help in adding this custom column field directly is GREATLY appreciated!
