Rev Rec Start Date/End Date automation

I have been trying to find a way to automatically populate the Rev. Rec. Start Date and End Date fields but have not been having any luck. The thing about our Revenue Recognition Schedule is that the Dates can change based on the Date in each line. Our company sells subscriptions to online training so they will always have a subscription "Start Date" on the transaction line. I have been told by NetSuite Help Center that I have to write a script to accomplish what I am trying to do but I have little experience with SuiteScript so am turning
