Standard Costs

We've been live with NS since 1/1, and had no clue of the intricacies of standard costing on the Go-Live date.  While everyone here has gotten much better, issues and questions persist.  In looking at an inventory valuation search, we found items where the Current Standard Cost was significantly different than the Location Standard Costs.  How many standard costs fields are there?  This question is applicable to both an inventory item (component) and a serialized inventory assembly.  So many costs, so little time to understand them all...
