Getting List of Contact Relationships to Customer

Is there a way to get a list of customers that have a 'relationship' with a particular contact using suitescript?  For example:  John Contact has a relationship with company A.  (When you pull up Company A's record you see John Contact listed as a contact)  I need to be able to pull a list of these contact/customer relationships from a contact record.
I know I can go the other way, getting contacts from from the contactrole sub list of the customer, but i would really like to use the contact record.

Or, is there a way to search a customer by contact name?
