Does number for transaction slow down system performace?

Hi All,

I'm running in to performance problem. We are trying to fulfill 30,000 identical orders. Each order has only 1 kit item. But that kit item is composed of 3 members. Once we started fulfilling order, ti was fine but when we hit 1,000 orders. The system was getting slow. It looks like as many order we fulfilled. System will become slower and slower. Is this normal? Or is there anything I should check?
