Automating journal entries related to a bank loan amortization schedule

Is it possible to automate the posting of journal entries related to a bank loan amortization schedule in NetSuite. I know NS has "memorized" journal entry support, but I was hoping for more flexibility - for instance, our interest expense fluctuates because of a debt discount,
