Fixed Assets - FAM - Is it usable?

I have been trying to run one full cycle of transactions (Asset proposal, asset creation and depreciation) in the Fixed Assets' module and have not been able to finished it.  The asset proposal is not running - it doesn't find the new asset transactions, but when you go to depreciation, the system alerts you that there are new assets pending creation.  I choose to override and depreciate anyways and the process doesn't run.  Support has created defects, released fixes and now they are investigating it again. Several scripts are showing as deferred.  No solution so far.
Has anyone else been stuck with this?
