Avatax: Show Tax Calculation without a Nexus

We are just spinning up our Avatax instance and one scenario plagues us.

If we are selling to a customer in a state we never had jurisdiction before but want to show the potential sales tax on the estimate how would we do that without having a Nexus setup in Avalara? The idea is we don't want to create a nexus if we don't have jurisdiction yet. we dont want to surprise customers with the presentation of sales tax on their first invoice that was never shown to them before.

Any ideas?
