Fixed Assets Summary Report not showing beginning balances

Assets exist within the fixed asset module since 2007 and there are depreciation transactions every month since then, however when I run an asset summary report for 2015, it shows a 0 beginning balance for all asset types. If I run the same report for 2014, it returns no data.
