NetSuite archive or way to start over

We recently purchased a company that used NetSuite. The accounting records were less than accurate to say the least. We want to keep the vital data(Customer history, Sales History, inventory history, etc.) My question to this forum is we want to be able to start fresh with the new company, but not lose all of the important data. Is there a way to reset the Accounting numbers to reflect new ownership profits or losses?
