Fixed Asset Catch Up JE

I'm creating new assets from my legacy system.  The historical JE are already posted in NS via manual JE.  Now we are planning to have one system to do the depre run off.  I want to bring in the current asset balance.  Is it possible to do a catch up JE that is non posting, so the depre run off will continue on it's normal course.  Thanks in advanced.
