CSV Import Assistant

I've read on a number of posts that a CSV Assistant is in the works, but have seen varying dates. Originally it was set for release in Q107 but I have also seen now Q207. Can we get some clarification as to when we could expect this new functionality? Also, are there any kind of release notes or details regarding what the new function will allow? Thanks in advance.
