Address Import (csv.) - PLEASE HELP!!!

Whenever I import address info (label, default billing, default shipping, address 1, address 2, city, state, zip, country) - it all imports to those fields, but I have to actually go into each record and click on the add/edit button for the actual address to update (and then save to save it).  Is there a way to have the address populate without having to go into each record and click add/edit and save?
