Import leads and contacts together with addresses

I am trying to import leads and contacts and I have a couple questions.

1.  There is no option on the Lead field list to specify individual or company.  I do see this option is I choose to import Leads only.   I thought this was required?  Does it assume the lead is a company since I'm importing contacts at the same time?

2.  The address information in the import file is for the contact.  Basically, the only lead information is the company.  Contact fields are available on the import mapping, but no contract address book is available.  How do I import the address information for the contact?
