Employee Time summary search?

I'm looking to create a saved search (for use in a KPI) that simply sums all employees' time (just like the Time By Employee Summary report), but can't figure out how to get time time sum part. Is this an NS limitation or an OSI layer 8 issue (my fault, that is)?
