Assigning tasks to partners in APC

Currently, there is no way that I can see to assign a task to one of my distributors who are able to login to our database using an APC license.  I am able to see when they log an activity, of course, but it would be extremely helpful and convenient if I could route a new lead to them using a task.

Is there a workaround for this today, or is this something on the task list for a future update?
