Fundamental flaw with "Invoice in advance of fulfillment" with serialized inventory?

Folks,

I've raised this with Netsuite technical support (ticket 673036) but as yet they have been unable to help me. I'm sure someone must have encountered this problem before, so I thought I'd check in here.

We occasionally bill customers for a complete order that has yet to be fulfilled, or is only partly fulfilled. To be able to do this, we have enabled the 'Invoice in advance of fulfillment' option in NetSuite. We seem to have a problem with the handling of serialized items in these cases though.

The problem is easily illustrated:

1. Create sales order containing 2 rows of serialized items
