Prebilled Customer-aging issue

We have several customers that we send an invoice to and wait until we recieve payment and then we process the SO to the vendor.
  We have a problem here with this showing/aging on our AR aging reports. We'd instead like the invoice to go into a liability account instead of the AR account and not age.
Does anyone else have this circumstance and know of an easy way to process without issuing a journal?
