Discount and Subtotal Line Items

We currently utilize quotes and are experiencing issues with discounts.  Our sales people like to show the total (lumped) discount at the bottom, along with the subtotal and total lines.  Finance prefers to show the discount on each appropriate line item.  We can either apply the discount to the transaction, which will have it display at the bottom, OR we can add a Discount line item, and then a Subtotal line item to each line.  Is there a way to utilize the Discount and Subtotal line items on individual lines, but also have the Subtotal and Discount fields display at
