Perpetual Item-Software Renewal Contract

Hello,

Appreciate if you could help me understand, what the 'Perpetual Contract Items' field would populate in a renewed contract record? It does not populate anything for me. If any of you have encountered this issue before, your inputs are of great help.

The field help says this- "If this is a renewal contract, this field displays the perpetual items from original contract. Perpetual items does not factor in to the renewal contract."

However, I tried creating Contracts with both Perpetual as well Term license product and the renewed the contract. I assume since the perpetual items would not get added to the contract items list of the renewed contract; It will be displayed in the 'Perpetual Contract Items' field just to keep track of all the perpetual items from the initial/original contract.
