Advanced Revenue Management - purpose of carve-out?
I've been playing around with the Advanced Revenue Management - I have a pretty decent grasp of how things flow and how they are calculated and done in NetSuite.
However, I'm having an issue trying to understand why a carve-out (the amount shown in "Total Carve-Out " in the Revenue Arrangement page) is calculated to begin with - what purpose does this serve? What in ASC 606 requires this to occur? Sorry if it's a basic question, but as I'm not a CPA, I'm having trouble grasping conceptually why this figure is calculated and the purpose it serves.
I appreciate any help on this!
