nlapiSearchRecord transaction search

Is it possible to run a saved transaction search with nlapiSearchRecord and return results on more than one record type?

I'd like to retrieve sales summary information for a customer using a Saved Transaction Search, but I need to include invoices, cash sales, cash refunds and credit memos in the search.  It would be complicated to execute 4 searches and then combine the results and setting the record type to "transaction" doesn't work...
