"nlapiRemoveSelectOption" is not defined

I added a select filed to the UI via form.addField and want to remove a value from the select options.  I've tried to do so by using a call to  "nlapiRemoveSelectOption but it throws an exception: ReferenceError: "nlapiRemoveSelectOption" is not defined.

Why?  Is'nt this method implemented as the documentation says?

FYI, sanbox version shows as "2007.1.0.38"
