Create / Submit Custom Record - Undefined Error

This is my first attempt at writing a script to create a new record, and I am getting an undefined error.  Any ideas?  Here's my function.  I have it executing when a line item is added to an invoice.  If the invoice line item is a certain type, I want to create a maintenance contract (custom record).  The only required field in the maintenance contract record is the recordname.
