send email with sender as a partner?

I think I already know the answer, but perhaps creative folks have found a way.

I want to be able to generate email notices (e.g. expiring subscription) to customers of partners, but I want the sender email address to be the Partner (not an employee or our email domain). Does not seem to be a way other than creating the Partner as an employee (which is not something we want to do).

Is there a way to send emails with the desired partner record's email address rather than employee?
