How to keyword search a custom record field?

edited Dec 2, 2019 5:49PM in SuiteCloud / Customization

I have a suitelet which does a keyword search on a custom record I created and returns the details as JSON response. I have created a long text field on the custom record which contains the text of all the fields that I want included in the search (with all HTML removed).

I have tried using "contains" and "haskeywords" search filters but they never work when more than one keyword is entered. So i figured the keywords string needs to be split in tokens and each token applied as a nlobjSearchFilter. This kind of works for "contains" but not "haskeywords". The search filter seems to only search the first 100 characters of the long text field. The docs say the first 4000 characters are used? Is this a bug?

Howdy, Stranger!
