How to set a multi-select parent-child list/record

edited Dec 2, 2019 6:06PM in SuiteCloud / Customization

I'm at wits end, trying everything I can think of to set a multi-select field that is parent-child related.

Field is on a Partner record and is a multi-select list record of type 'Employee' and is parent. This gives me the ability to set from either the Partner record (I can 'attach' employees by name to the partner), or from the employee record (I can 'attach' partners by name to the employee).

Problem with this is that on new employee records, this field does not show up due to the parent-child relationship and no record ID available on new records. However, I want to perform some setting of this field in the user-event, so I set up an after-submit on the employee record so i can have the record ID and want to set a number of Partner IDs (and possibly remove others that could be previously set). How do I do this?

Howdy, Stranger!
