Splitting the Serial Number field

I am writing a script which is performing some validation on each serial number on a line item. However, I am unable to use the split method successfully to get an array of each serial number.

The charCodeAt() method return 10, so I have tried
serial = serialtxt.split(/\u0010/);

but it does not split it.

What's the secret to split it?
