customer 'parent' field nlapiLookupField vs nlapiLoadRecord
We have a lot of multi-tier customer relationships.
It seems that
var parent = nlapiLookupField('customer',id,'parent');returns the top level parent, while
var parentRec = nlapiLoadRecord('customer',id); var parent = parentRec.getFieldValue('parent');returns the immediate parent.
I would like to know if this non-intuitiveness is by design, or if it is something that will be fixed down the road, before I take advantage of this in a script.
Any thoughts or input from NS employees?
Thanks in advance!
