Get Subsidiaries by Role

In code running in  a suitlet I would like to know
to which subsidiaries has a specific role/current user access. The role entity is not reflected in the API.
A solution that I am currently using is running a search on transactions grouped by subsidiary. This can work for small databases, though once the data is growing I am meeting a performance issue
