Script to generate and display a CSV file

We have developed scripts that use saved searches to create files and attach them to emails.  Instead of attaching them to an email, is there a way to display these results in an excel spreadsheet?  In other words, we want to achieve the same results as selecting 'Export - CSV' on search results. 

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
