Script for auto populating Lot #'s on Inventory Detail

Is it possible to write a script to auto populate the Lot#, Exp Date and Quantity (preferred bins seem to already auto populate) on the inventory detail when building assemblies?

I have an assembly being built from 3 sub components all of which have Lot#s associated with them. I need NS to look into the component and pull the lot#/Exp Date and quantity in a FIFO type method.

Any thoughts are appreciated.
