Advanced Printing

I have been testing the Advanced Printing beta tool, and while it's still in Beta I like what I have seen so far but I have hit a snag.

Each line item on a sales order record can contain a customization. This customization is a custom record that shows all the details of a product customization.

First, I can't access the properties of this custom record in Advanced Printing, which I wasn't too shocked about. So I thought if I add a transaction column of type text area to the sales order and serialize the customization details as HTML then I could access the transaction column with no problem.
