Opty number updated from Free from text to List field in custom record

in my custom record, i have 2 custom fields, one is list type Oportunity field, second one is fre from text.
what i am doing is, when user submits onlien form, the opportunity number will be updated in free from text,
now i need to get the opportunity number from free from text field and updated in to list type field.
this helps me to link this record to opportunity.
i have written sample code below
Just to note, when i search opportunity number in list type fied from UI i need to add # to the number, for eg: #oop112, otherwise it is not pulling up.
