Edit Inventory Detail on Item Receipts

Is it possible to edit the inventory detail on item receipts via suitescript?  When I try to use nlapiEditCurrentLineItemSubrecord("item", "inventorydetail"), I receive a SSS_INVALID_SUBLIST_OPERATION error, and when I load the record using nlapiLoadRecord, the functions (create|edit|view)currentLineItemSubrecord don't seem to exist.  Any thoughts?
