Ignore the AVS check

We have an automated billing script and we would like to ignore the AVS check while billing certain orders.
Setting the ignoreavs field is not creating a cash sale with the box checked.

 cashSale.setFieldValue('ignoreavs', 'T');


Any help is greatly appreciated.
