Send E-mail From Contact To Employee (Inbound Lead)

I would like to capture leads via web form/suitelet and send an e-mail FROM the contact created to our internal employee (sales person), such that they can reply to the e-mail and use the built in e-mail tracking capability to automatically capture our sales rep's first e-mail.

nlapiSendEmail requires an employee as the Author.  is there any way to do this natively in netsuite?

The only other option I can see is to have the suitelet call our to a third party URL that will send an external e-mail to our sales rep "FROM" the customer to kick start the process
