Portlet to search internalID's?
I've noticed that the global search field does not allow users to search by the INTERNALID of a CUSTOMER record. I need to provide this functionality, but I'm not sure where to start.
It's been suggested that I explore PORTLETS, but in reading the help files it appears you can only show results in a LIST portlet, but that you can't have an input (filter) field and a submit button unless you're using a FORM portlet.
So, how can I do this? Will a portlet work? Is a suitelet a better option? Or an HTML portlet perhaps?
Any guidance appreciated. This seems like a simple task, but I'm hitting functional roadblocks.
