"Shipment Packages" sublist of Item Fulfillments

I need to find a way to add lines to the Shipment Packages sublist of an Item Fulfillment in SuiteScript.  NetSuite Support tells me it's "unsupported" but intimated there was a way to do it.  Anyone know about this?  It's kind of an urgent thing - I know OzLink Shipping adds them but I think it might be doing some kind of DOM-poking to do it rather than scripting.

Thanks in advance for any help you could offer.
