Getting component quantities from assemblies or work orders

Hi, everyone.

Short Version:
I have a need to retrieve the Bill of Materials for assemblies for use within a script.  I know that components are listed with a "member" sublist on the assembly item's record, but I'm having difficulty reaching the item numbers and quantities via suitescript.  Does anyone know how to access the fields within this sublist?  I also can't find any info on the records browser.
