How to Access Contacts Sublist of Vendor Record

Is is possible to access this sublist through the getLineItemValue API? I have tried with 'contactroles', 'contact', 'contacts' and I was looking at 'itemvendor' and 'addressbook'. The documentation is not crystal clear to me on what sublist I need to use or if it is even possible.

I was able to access this through nlapiLookupField using 'contact.email', but the problem is that I need to get more than one record and I do not think that it is possible with LookupField API.

Here is a snippet of code. It is a user event -> after submit . With this I get a "recipient" error
