Journal Entry and Yield Script

I have a script that needs to write a journal entry with over 3000 lines. Needless to say it runs into governance issues. Is is possible to use Yield script without submitting the record (it wouldn't balance in the middle) and have the script continue writing lines where it left off? If not is there a better way to do it? Data exists on a custom record and will always be in excess of 3000 lines.
