Suitelet response time

Hi,

We have a suitelet running two dynamic searches with the second one returning summary results of unpredictable size though the maximum should never exceed about a 100 lines. Of these lines, we only read the first 12 lines. This is taking about 12 seconds to respond. I have two questions:

1. Is this normal?
2. Will using a saved search improve response times?
3. Would a RESTlet be faster?
