Run As Administrator Doesn't Work...

When running a User Event script as Administrator, if your script (in a Before Submit function) is changing a field that has permissions applied through the Access tab and those permissions don't match the Role permissions under which the script user is under, the field will not set due to permissions failure. NetSuite advises to set the field in an After Submit to resolve the problem. Does anyone know the reason why it's OK to set in After Submit, but is not in Before Submit?
